Basmati varieties of rice have a productivity of up to 65 maunds per acre and progressive farmers are achieving this productivity through better use of fertilizers and water and timely control of harmful insects and diseases. Apply the last batch of nitrogen fertilizer within 50 days of transplanting the lobe.
A spokesman for the Rice Research Institute said that zinc and boron deficiencies have been noted repeatedly in rice fields, so agronomists have advised farmers to add zinc sulfate as well as nitrogen or phosphorus to such fields. He said that adding sulfur coated urea or monium sulfate fertilizers to paddy is more beneficial and increases production.
He said that zinc and boron deficiency has also been noted in the fields where rice is cultivated repeatedly, so adding zinc sulphate in such fields is as important as adding nitrogen or phosphorus. He said that in the fields where zinc is deficient, the roots of paddy plants are short and the lower leaves show zinc marks within one month of transplanting.
He said that due to the lack of zinc, the plants have difficulty in obtaining other food components and the growth of the crop stops, as a result of which the production of paddy is affected. He said that if the use of zinc sulfate fertilizer in the nursery Apply 33% strength zinc sulphate at 5-10 kg per acre within 2-3 weeks of transplanting if not done.
He said that boron deficiency has also been observed in most areas of paddy cultivation in recent years. He said that one month after the transfer of rice paddy, if the water is dried from the paddy field and the oxygen flow in the soil is made easier, the slight deficiency of zinc and boron can be remedied by itself. He said that in case of boron deficiency, 1 to 2 kg of boric acid should be added per acre.
He said that keeping 2 to 3 inches of water in the paddy crop for the first 40 days makes the crop more bushy. Similarly, if the water remains more than 3 inches, the crop shows fewer sprouts and the yield decreases, so after 40 days of transferring the nursery, The amount of water should be reduced and the field should be allowed to drain so that good yield can be obtained.
